ARCOA Group Transforms Asset Tracking & Order Processing with EasyPick RFID

Since 1990, ARCOA Group has specialized in asset remarketing and electronic recycling. Their primary focus is on copiers, printers, and IT equipment. Operating from a 100,000 ft² facility in Waukegan, Illinois, ARCOA receives 3,000–5,000 units and ships 20–30 containers of product per month.

The Challenge

Before implementing EasyPick RFID, ARCOA’s warehouse operations relied heavily on manual processes. This led to several key challenges:

  • Limited visibility: Difficulty locating assets within the facility at any given time.
  • Manual tracking errors: Increased risk of misplaced or miscounted items.
  • Security concerns: Assets occasionally left the facility without proper invoicing or documentation.
  • Inefficient audits: Quarterly audits took up to 60 man hours to complete, with up to 15 employees participating.

The Solution

To address these challenges, ARCOA partnered with Inyxa to implement EasyPick RFID for asset tracking.

The solution included:

  • Real-time asset tracking for all assets entering the building.
  • Unique EPC tag generation: EasyPick assigns a tag to each serialized item upon receipt.
  • Lifecycle tracking: Monitors assets from inbound receiving docks to outbound truck loading and shipping.
  • Zone-level visibility: Tracks and time-stamps asset locations within warehouse zones (configured through a zone creation process).
  • RFID infrastructure: Uses Feig fixed RFID readers and antennae for continuous monitoring.
  • Mobile RFID scanning:
    Locate assets by filtering item numbers. Use the hot-cold finding feature to guide warehouse staff directly to items.
  • Outbound verification: Ensures the correct sales item is included in deliveries.
  • Anti-theft feature: Sends alerts to supervisors if an item exits the warehouse without being linked to a valid invoice
