Project Description

Integrated Fulfillment Management at a High Volume e-commerce Distribution center
Customer Profile:
A large Internet retailer with multi-channel marketing.
High volume of receipts, returns and picking/packing rates.
Environment:
• Oracle E-Business Suite • STIBO SpirePLM • ProShip • ATG
Needs/Challenges:
Obsolete technology stack & lack of support for highly customized legacy system that handled a high number of purchase order receipts, volume of returns & picking-packing rates. Challenges in integration with newer warehouse control systems. Need to replace Style-Color-SKU attribute inheritance and tabular ordering with a supported solution in EBS.
Inventory Challenges: Large number of attributes at different hierarchical levels, with inheritance; interface with PIM to load all items & item data into EBS
Purchasing Challenges: Complex purchase orders with multiple buy indicators & varying product types; limited management visibility
WMS Challenges: High-volume receiving by UPC Scanning; Random location putaway; Picking – packing & returns; Cycle count
Legacy OMS Integration Challenges
Solution:
Implementation of EBS fulfillment modules including Warehouse Management, Inventory, Costing, and Purchasing
Oracle WMS with mobile extensions (Task Dispatch, Receiving, Pick, Pack and Ship) to enable efficient integration with conveyor & sorting equipment and retail-centric processes
A Planning & Purchasing portal that provides a grid interface for purchasing Style SKU’s
Real-time integration with STIBO Retail PIM
ADF web applications to handle the very high reverse logistics volumes
Integration with Parcel Manifesting / Rate Shopping System (Proship) and Dropship aggregator (Radial/VendorNet)
Impact:
Shipped normal day of volume within the first 24 hours after Go-Live. Supported the highest unit shipping day in history of company
Increased efficiency of general merchandise picking
Increased customer satisfaction & efficiency due to cross-docking
More user-friendly supportable environment
Tighter integration within fulfillment systems
